Sorry no updates lately. This will be the last update of 2007, I can say that much!
OK... Home study was finally completed about a week ago. Now we are awaiting our I-171 form from the USCIS. I don't know how long that will take to get here but hopefully not long. In the mean time we are going to be getting our other documents all ready to go (notarized). Which means that we are actually sort of seeing a little bit of the distant light at the end of this paperwork preparation tunnel!!
Not much other news to report, I'm afraid. I have heard that people are traveling pretty quickly after their dossier gets submitted. I don't know for sure though! We're still hoping to get to go around April or May or so.
Lately I've been thinking I need to find books to read about the details of child raising that I don't know. Like if we have a four year old... The other day I was thinking while crunching on a mint (quietly, for Jason's sake), "Can a four year old eat a mint? Is that a choking hazard? I wonder if Tristan and Cameron are allowed to chew gum or eat mints... When did I start chewing gum? Has the rule changed since then?" I know it sounds stupid... But I'm trying to think of the "The Things You Don't Think Of Till..." It seems like things like that would come naturally if you have a child from infancy on.
Where is the manual my parents wrote for me for when I have to do their job? This is where they get their revenge. Watching me wallow in my ignorance.
Wait a minute... I was the good kid! Why would they want revenge? There must be some other explanation. I will get to the bottom of this.

Sorry to be the bearer of the bad news, but THERE IS NO MANUAL! Parents have been seeking THE MANUAL for millenia. It's existence is just a cruel rumor that probably a grandparent started to confuse kids so that they could then proceed to spoil their grandkids unimpeded by pesky parents using the phantom MANUAL. Afraid you're on your own. It's called on the job training!!!
Hey brat! :)
Tristan and Cameron still don't eat mints or chew gum. Partly because they don't like it. Yesterday was the first day they "really" ate a lollipop. :) It will come naturally when raising a child, just go with your gut, mama and daddy instincts. Jehovah gave us these instincts for a reason. If you feel something is not right for your child, don't do it regardless of what other people say. Then on the flip side, if you feel something is right for your child, then do it. You and Jay will be great parents!!!!! I can't wait to meet your new child when yall bring he/she back. I also can't wait to see you and Jay be a mom and dad! :) Yall will be wonderful!
There must be a secret book somewhere. Like the secret president book in the National Treasure movie. I'm not sure I buy this "what book, there's no book!" stuff. LOL
Thanks Neen! You're sweet.
It looks like people read your posts and don't ever tell me!!! =)
Yes, Molly, you were a VERY good kid ... still are!!
Nope, no manual, but you know there's a bunch of us out here that will be SURE to offer wanted & unwanted A-D-V-I-C-E!!! LOL!!
Love you, baby ... looking forward to meeting my new grandchild!!!
